HRM. Alhaji Aliyu K. Danesi

Oba Danesi II, the Aidonogie of South-Ibie Kigdom

HRH Alh. Aliyu Kevin Danesi as he was known in the ordinary life was born to the Idanesi Royal Family of Iyakpi, South-Ibie Kingdom, Etsako West Local Government Area, Edo State, Nigeria.  His early education began with primary school in Iyakpi, South-Ibie.  He attended St. Paul Anglican Grammar School, Igarra in Edo State, and thereafter attended Federal School of Arts and Science, Victoria Island, Lagos, before furthering his education at the University of Ibadan, and eventually the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) Ile Ife.  Afterwards he attended the Nigeria law School, where he was called to the Bar in 1984 as a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.  After the compulsory National Youth Service, he joined a firm of Solicitors and Advocate – Ibrahim Hamina and Co. as a Legal Practitioner. He left Ibrahim Hamina and Co. and joined former ABC Merchant Bank Limited, as the Company Secretary and Legal Adviser.  In 1990, he moved over to former Citizens International Bank Nigeria Limited.

While he was in citizen’s bank, he rose to top management level as the Head of public sector department of the bank.  He was also a Director in Citizen international bank.  While in the bank he attended many courses in Management Financial and advanced credit analysis both in Nigeria and abroad.

 He retired in 1999 to ascend the throne of his fore-fathers as the Aidonogie of South-Ibie Kingdom.  On the 7th February, 1998, he was installed as the Oba Idanesi II, the Aidonogie of South-Ibie Kingdom and was given a staff of office by the then Edo Stated Governor, Navy Captain

A.I Onyearugbulem, on May 22nd, 1999. As the Aidonogie of South-Ibie, He was Chairman,

– Fund raising committee, Edo State National Quaranic Recitation Committee, Auchi from 2009 till date.

-Secretary, Edo North Traditional Council – 2009

-Amir ul Hajj of Edo State 2009

-Secretary General, South-South Monarch Forum

-Member, Security Committee of the National Council of Traditional Rulers.

-Member of the Federal Government Coordinating committee for 2015 Hajj.

HRH Alhaji Aliyu K. Danesi is also a businessman who sits in the Board of several companies as Chairman. Prominent amongst them include:

  • Trebien Resources Nigeria Limited (construction)
  • Z Group Nigeria Limited (Multinational Engineering Company)
  • Multipurpose Renewable energy Limited
  • Multi-Profeed Integrated Nigeria limited (Agro-Allied Company)

PREVIOUS AWARDS AND HONOURS

In recognition to his outstanding contribution to the development of his kingdom, South-Ibie, and Edo State in general, the following organization conferred on him various honours and awards, prominent among them are: the certificate of Merit by Nigeria Students Union, Islamic University Medina, Saudi Arabia; National Islamic Heroes Award by Quran Kareem Academy, Nigeria institute for Islamic Affairs, Kuje, Abuja; Exemplary Leadership award, by Visionaries Club of Nigeria; Leadership award by Africa international Media organization; Exemplary service award by our lady of Fatima old boys Association, Auchi; Award of lifetime achievement for Traditional leadership in Nigeria by West African Regional Magazine; Leadership award by Rotary club of Auchi metropolitan district 9140, Honorary fellow Auchi Polytechnic Auchi on the 5th of December 2015.

          HRH Alhaji Aliyu K. Danesi is a philanthropist and a community developer with passion for humanitarian services.  He is happily married and blessed with children. His hobbies include reading, sports, travelling and music.
