HRH OBA OKHISHIMEDE ESHIMOKHAI IDOGU III (JP) OON

THE OLOKPE OF OKPE KINGDOM

H.R.H. Oba Okishimede Eshimokhai Idogu III (JP) OON, the Olokpe of Okpe kingdom was born into the Royal Family of Okpe on 17th July 1957.

  3. Agbarho Grammer School Agbatio Delta State.
  4. Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma (Political Science)

In November 14th 1987, he ascended the throne of his fore fathers, because of his peaceful nature, love for his community people and Edo people in general, the Executive Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Odigie Oyegun in 1993, made him Justice of peace (JP). The former President of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan awarded him a national honor in the rank of Officer of the Order of Niger (OON) in November 14th 2011.

For his love for Education, general development of his community and Akoko Edo LGA at large, he assisted in admission, training and sponsoring of his subjects up to higher Institute level. In appreciation of these, the Federation of Akoko Edo Student Association of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Auchi awarded him a certificate of honors in 2006respectively. He was awarded Honorary citizenship by the Mayors of Tuskegee and Albany in USA in 2008. And in recognition of his contribution towards God’s work the Diocesan of Sabongida Ora Anglican awarded him a certificate of Honors. He is also a member of intercessors for Africa House of Prayer for Peace and Unity for Africa. As a Staunch Christian, he was Sponsored twice to the Holy Land (Israel) by the Edo State Government.

He is a member and Patron of many Clubs, organizations amongst which are the famous Benin Club, Our Club of Nigeria, Akure etc.

Places of interest visited by HRH includes Ghana, Burundi, Uganda, South Africa, Britain, Scotland, USA, Mauritius, Seychelles etc.

  1. Chairman of Akoko Edo Traditional Rulers Council.
  2. Governing Council Member of AAU, 2006-2008.
  3. Governing Council Member Uniben, 2008-2009
  4. Member, Cocoa rebirth team to Ghana, 2006.
  5. Member, Akoko Edo Boundary Adjustment Committee.

He is a sport lover, plays Table tennis and Golf. He is happily married with children, in-laws and grandchildren.
