HRH MALLAM ALI SULAYMAN

Atoma of Imiegba and the Ogieagah IV of 3 Ivie Clan.

His Royal Highness, Mallam Ali Sulayman, the sevenths ruler of Imiegba and the fourth King of three Ivie Clan was born in 1964. He received a former education, studying in our lady of Fatima Grammar School, Auchi before his academic career in the tertiary institution. He was nominated by his people as the present village head of Imiegba community due to the track records of his leadership. He enthroned the mantle of rulership as the first Imiegba village head, who was corronated with the government approved Imiegba Chieftaincy gazette on the 24th June, 2015.

Being a non-Partisan, HRH Mallam Ali Sulayman accepted his nomination by  his people to rule over them following prolong uncoordinated ruling system in Imiegba community which brought about differences between the three ruling houses. It was to prevent the crises of the ruling system that have bedeviled traditional successions all over the country and to engender equity and justice in line with the customs and traditions of various communities that a committee was set up with all relevant stakeholders of Imiegba community to draft a chieftaincy declaration that would generally be acceptable and truly reflect the culture and tradition of the Imiegba people.

By the year 2001, the constituted prominent clan heads of Etsako East Local Government Area comprising HRH (Dr.) A.Y.A Dirisu, the Okuokpellagbe of Okpella, HRH Dr. S.T Alokwe, the Onweweko of Okpekpe, HRH (Hon) J.B Momoh, the Ogieagah 111 of 3 Ivie Clan and HRH I.J Obozuwa, the Okumagbe of Weppa-Wanno and the stakeholders of the Imiegba community had completed the drafted gazette. It was based on this drafted declaration that HRH Mallam Ali Sulayman was enthroned as the Imiegba Village Head in 2015 and subsequently as the Paramount ruler of three Ivie in March, 2018 which gave him the title “Ogieagah IV of 3 Ivie Clan”.

After his coronation, his first landmark project was the reorganization of the Imiegba community in accordance with the ancient structural system. Since his enthronement  as Imiegba village head, the community has achieved tremendous developmental projects, peaceful community, extension of religion worship centers (like the mosques and churches), freedom of speech and association, creation of additional branches of the Imiegba Urualo development Union which aims at uniting the Imiegba indigenous people from all root of their settlements and among others.

The young king, like his forefathers, is popular in North Ibie land and in Edo state in general. He is a one-time lecturer, and president of the academic staff union of the federal polytechnic Auchi, senior special adviser to ex-governor Adams Oshiomole on education, state universal basic education board (SUBEB), acting chairman among other numerous position he has attained. A devout Muslim, he has gained the respect of his people and proved that he will continue to promulgate the leadership rule his forefathers had championed during their reign. Being a ruler with ancient and model religious knowledge, he was given the title “ATOMA” just immediately after he was enthroned as the village head of Imiegba community in 2015.
