Hon. (Mrs) Benedicta Ebuehi

Hon. (Mrs) Benedicta Ebuehi is the Executive Chairman of Etsako East Local Govt Council and member of the Board, FCT Internal Revenue Service, Abuja. She was previously Vice Chairman and Secretary to the same local govt. She worked as the Senior Special Assistant on NGOs to the Governor of Edo Sate upon her return to Nigeria from Europe.

She spent over a decade in Ireland where she worked in various capacities including Plan Ireland, an international development organisation working to achieve lasting improvements in the quality of life of deprived children in developing countries. She was a Board Member at Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) Ireland and Refugee Information Service now the Integration Centre, Ireland. She was a member of the Board of the Africa Centre and became Chairperson from 2007 to 2008. She also worked with the Simon Community and the De Paul Trust, two organizations working to end homelessness in Ireland.

Benedicta is an advocate, social entrepreneur and trainer on Civil Society issues with particular focus on the Socio-economic Empowerment.

She worked with the National Consultative Committee on Racism & Interculturalism, Ireland where she delivered high level training to Public Officers, Irish Police Officers, members of the judiciary, etc on diversity management. In 2009, she launched Dreamworld Leadership Initiative for Girls, an educational mentoring and support project for girls who are placed at a disadvantage because of poverty. The project also recognises and celebrates the contributions of women who have made a difference in their communities.

She holds an MSc in Future Communications and has won several international and national awards for promoting inclusiveness.

Benedicta’s ambition, networks and personal experiences have led her on a positive and rewarding journey that’s dedicated to working with women and youth from diverse cultures and backgrounds to utilise their potential, achieve positive goals and help build sustainable communities.
